How We Partner

We build long-term partnerships through a shared commitment to achieving lasting and transformational outcomes that go beyond a single initiative or school year.

We are guided by BGS’s own core belief system: that the most powerful lever we have to improve our communities is to improve our schools.

We start by deeply understanding each school in its context and community. We then work in partnership with key leaders to go after an institution’s most ambitious vision, often challenging and reshaping the way leaders think along the way.

Our work most frequently takes the form of 3–5 year deep engagements, complemented by shorter-term (6–18 month) targeted sprints.

From crisis to record Regents results

Brooklyn Ascend High School opened with half its roles empty and no shared vision. Two years later, it set school records on New York’s Regents exams.
